ready to swap front ends....what all do i need to know/do??
alright i did the rear gear swap...so far, so good. i purchased a front section from here and now ready to install. what all is involved? do you practically disassemble the entire front end or are there any tips to install this thing with minimal headache?
also, while im at it and stuff is out and apart, are there any routine maintenances that i may need to do or upgrade?
all tips and hints appreciated....this looks to be a tough and tidious job

Take your time and have fun with it.
Pull the d- shaft, cvs and mounting bolts and out it comes. Sounds easy written like that but my first swap took close to 8 hours.
When I did my first one I had to pop a lower ball joint to have enough room to pull a CV. Now, I tap the studs out of the flange so the diff slides out without interfering with the CVs. Just put a bar on them from outside the fender and tapped them out.
Good luck. WHat are you putting in for gears?

x2 on removing the studs for the CV's.
Put a nut on the end, and pop the studs out. When they are all out take a small grinder and grind the splines off them to essentially make them bolts. Then the CV's will slip out the next time you change them

I did find out last weekend how much the routing of front brake lines suck. While replacing the pads and new caliper springs, I bent the already pretty fragile brake lines at the caliper. Those things suck compared to SA brakes routing.
We do appreciate any advice you guys can offer us. Thanks.
