The tranny and t-case is NOT light! I remember watching my mechanic benchpress the whole assembly (including x-member and front shaft) into place and bolt it up..

Your lucky it didnt crush you.

*laugh* I broke 4 on my left side after getting stomped by a bull in the rodeo at Sul Ross State. It hurt like hell but the buckle bunnies made it giggle worthy later on that evening.

On a more serious note that tranny and t-case, although small, are freaking heavy. Be careful with stuff like this. Getting killed under your own rig in the garage will quickly put you into the Darwin Awards.

My 42 year old dad bech pressed the tranny, tcase, x cromber and whole deal into my old tacoma after putting a new clutch in it. He made it look pretty easy he just benched it up with his arms then used his legs to support it while he bolted it up. I will never bet him again.....

Next time my clutch is gone, definately getting someone else to do it. Dang that was heavy and a pain in the arse to line the bolts up.. Not to mention getting the top bolts from underneath with 30 extensions....

Exactly what I ended up doing, the jack was NOT cooperating that day. It surprised me how light it was, I was expecting much heavier

I've considered doing this with mine but the local place wants 1200$ to do it and it'll take 5 days to complete. Oh and they won't stand behind the work if I don't use the parts they sell.
