Re-gearing

Re-gearing
Just found out my sons 4 runner has a 4.09 ratio in front and a 4.55 in the rear. That's sucks because according to the Vin # and code on the door jamb (g294) it should have 4.10's in the rear. So we have to re-gear the front dana 44 and were just wondering what to expect to pay for the gear swap?

I don't know what it would cost to regear the D44 but if you would have been happy with the 4.10's why not just get a stock 4.10 diff for the rear?
People give them away or sell for cheap. Or trade your 4.56 for it.

A shop where I live just quoted my $875 to regear my Dana!!!! In your opinions what would be the best route for me to take? With 35" tires wouldn't it be better to change to the 4.56s or go with the 4.10s? I found Yukon gears 4.56 for $200, the shop I asked for a quote told me $400 just for the gears., and $475 in labor, I'm for sure not going there.

what motor does it have. If is has toyota v6 3.0 id go with 4.56, actually id go higher than that but in terms of cost go with 4.56. First search craigslist might get lucky finding a ring and pinion or a whole 3rd member. If no luck buy parts your self and bring em to a shop to get installed. My local shop charged 50 bucks to change a ring and pinion and install a locker, but diff was out of the truck.
Good Luck!
