Angry re-attached transmission, now truck wont roll

So I thought I broke my flywheel and took my transmission off to check it as well as my clutch.

Put the trans back on today, and when I was rolling it back out of the shop the 4Runner just stopped rolling. My friend and I were able to muscle it out and move it another 20 feet.

I should mention that I think I put the 4WD shifter back wrong. I can not shift it into 2WD. I will try to fix that tomorrow.

So my question is what could be the reason that the 4Runner would not roll if the trans was in neutral?

The parking break was off and the trans was in neutral.

Also it rolled into the shop so its not a brake adjustment issue.

If its stuck in 4wd perhaps driveline bind is keeping the truck from rolling easily.

Why did you drop the tranny in the first place? You say you thought you broke the flywheel, what where the symptoms?

Well it think the 4wd is in Neutral, would it really matter if the trans was in neutral?

Took the trans off because I thought the flywheel was broken because it wouldn't start just spin the starter. Turns out I jumped the timing and bent all the valves and the starter was just spinning the flywheel/no compression=no starting.

So back to the trans. why would it not roll if the 5speed manual was in neutral? we had to push it really hard to get it moving. Could there be drive line binding? What is the cause of that?

Okay I hate to leave threads un-resolved because it won't help the next person, and that's what we are all about here at Yotatech.

So when I pushed the 4Runner out of the shop last week I didn't notice that the hubs were still locked. (They were locked because I broke my 4Runner off roading and never unlocked them) Today when I pushed the truck back in I unlocked hubs (noticed that today), it good was difficult at first then it freed up, I think it was drive line bind. I was also able to get it into 2WD.

So it is better now.

so everything is back to normal? transfer shifter correctly installed? I was helpin a bud with his runner and he incorrectly installed the transfer shifter, it ended up shifting one of the forks forward so the t case was binding in 2hi and 4lo. Or something of that nature. pulled the shifter, lined up the forks and it was all good.

Yep, the shifter was installed properly, I think it was because the hubs were locked and just some bind or something. So im good on that now.
