Angry Rattle after rebuild

I just finished rebuilding my 92 22re and now I have a rattle /knock every time I give it gas. We thought it might be a rod or main bearing but it doesn't go away when I pull off the individual spark plug wires. It sounds like it coming from the front of the motor so could it be timing chain related? I bought a rebuild kit which came with a new timing kit w/plastic guides. It's driving me crazy. Any ideas?

Can you post a video of t so we can hear it?

What all did you rebuild? Top-end only, total motor tear down, or what? Why did you rebuild this motor? HG failure, more power, spun bearing?

Do you have oil pressure? Is the timing correct? Did you set it with the jumper clip in? Are the motor mounts good? Is the valve lash done correctly?

Too long of a bolt in the oil pump that goes through the timing cover and thus hits the chain? Not sure what that sounds like though as I never heard it.

I would think if it were that though, it would be there on and off the gas.

I did a total rebuild due to spun bearings, I bought a rebuild kit; pistons/rings, Rod/main bearings, new oil pump, timing kit w/plastic guides, new cam, new crank, block bored, rods resized, valves honed/reseated. I used the jumper to set timing to 5 BTDC. Oil pressure @ normal driving is around 50 PSI but @ idle it drops to around 20-25 @ 750 RPM on a mechanical oil pressure gauge installed by yours truly. Also checked valves after break in. It happens whenever I give it gas or let off on the gas.

The oil pressure fluctuation is normal. With the motor running if you take the oil fill cap off does it sound like the noise is coming from there? That might narrow down timing chain issues? Or use a mechanics stethoscope.
