R134a conversion fittings...

I just went down to the parts store to get a kit that had the R134a fittings for the R12 system to convert it. Well I can screw the high side fitting on and it feels like it bottoms out against the compressor. The kit is from Interdynamics and came with 4 fittings for pre-1976 and post-1976 vehicles. Those of you who've converted...where did you get your fittings and did you have any issues?

See pics below...red arrow shows where the bottom of the fitting is tightening up against the compressor housing/body. Seems like there will be a gap left or it won't seel where the two meet inside.

I got my fittings from ackits.com. For the low side fitting, you really should get a 90 degree adapter because you will not be able to get the coupler from your hose onto that straight connector when it's in the truck. Good thing the weather is cool down here right now, you have some time to get that ac working. I just bought o-rings from advance auto, their little kit had enough rings to replace all of them.
