question about 63 chevy's

question about 63 chevy's

so i was thinkin about getting the chevy springs and wanted to be sure what i was looking for. where does the "63" come from? is that how long they are in inches or is that the year they came off of? and what did they come off of. what things should i look for when looking for them and where can i find them?

ive been looking at the same thing, but through my searching ive found that ford 53" springs would be better suited for my needs (easier to fab up and flex just as much) the ford springs are off set longer to one end, so you can retain your stock rear hanger and move your front hanger forward 11" and make a rear shackle to fit your lift, i have a 4" lift so i would need a 6" shackle

63" long eye-to-eye
88-98 1500 Chevy's 4wd or 2wd (4wds have 3 leaves + OL, 2wds have 2 leaves + OL)

57" Fords F150 springs you mean?

not alot of figurin involved

Front hanger 11" forward (eye-to-eye) of the stock front.
Rear hanger 4" back (eye-to-eye) of the rear ( all I did for mine was butted the new hanger to the back of the old one and welded it there)
