This is aftermarket, but it is designed to be an exact replica of the stock Cat. but it doesn't have platinum in it. This is your best bet as far as getting close to stock.

Cali specs dude. Way more expensive. Just go to LCE and look at the 49 state cat and cali cat. Not even close.

The MagnaFlow Hi Flow cat that I just had installed by a local muffler shop was only $60.

You don't live in California do you?
Every CAT out there is 49 state legal and cheap...because it's not CALIFORNIA LEGAL.
My Datsun CAT was $260 when I failed smog twice this summer. Sadly, my YOTA's CAT is original and I can barely see any light through it - likely will have to shell out that kind of cash again soon....

Cool bean... I will test it out how it goes. When I drove it home w/o a cat my gas guage didn't drop when it did had one... I hope this will help me a bit on gas that I been having issue for awhile. I will go striaght pipe after the smog but what is the benefit of giong striaght pipe? Does it give you more HP and is it giong to be loud w/o one...
They change the law that all cata. must be OBII emission things. What so ever that call. So it got to be a CA Compliant one to buy now. There is no more cheap cata. you can buy from now... Went to the shop to get a cheap one and said they don't sale them no more... Got a price quorte for about 260$ for a welded one. I look into the net and find one that is direct fit for 210+Tax... The one that need to be weld was only 140$. I ask the guy I found a direct fit for only 210 and see if he would give me a deal but wouldn't want to.

Yes, that's 1 state short of 50 state (read: California)
A quick search at Kragen found a 50 state legal one for not too much money:

All I will say is be very careful about ordering a converter for a Cali vehicle, online. Online sales are all but completely illegal since it has to be installed by a licensed installer. Cali has very specific requirements about installing new converters: the converter "must" have an EOD number for the vehicle, the EOD has to be visible from several feet away without using mirrors, etc., the installer has to be licensed and register the converter's serial number with the state....
Good luck getting around the regs.

In NY the emissions regs are pretty strict too, and we have to get tested every year instead of every two, at least downstate NY (NYC and LI), upstate NY might as well be a different state, I don't even think they need an emmisions inspection up there in the sticks. But my cat was $150, and I've paid over $200 for some in the past. I've never seen them for less than around $120 here, but those are cheap crap ones.
I'm not sure if it's as strict as Cali, but here the car has to get thrown up on the dyno and emissions read at all speeds and engine loads up to around 60mph, the emissions machine is hooked up directly to the state and the inspection goes directly to the state as soon as it either passes or fails, and there is a camera on the machine and the recording goes directly to the state also, no more paying people off to pass you or running a different car and telling the computer it's yours. I have seen people get busted by the state that were caught on camera trying to scam a car passed inspection.
OBDII cars need to be hooked up to the computer through the diagnostic port when they are run on the dyno, and the computer monitors all the OBDII monitors during the emissions dyno check. If you have a Check Engine light on, you fail instantly, if you try to clear the light yourself before you bring it in, it fails also, because the OBDII monitors haven't reset and obviously they can tell that.
Only cars that are less than like 4 years old or something don't go on the Dyno, they just get hooked up to the computer and it reads the OBDII monitors and either passes or fails.
Tough as hell, and we have to have it done every year instead of every two, I wish we got two year's out of an inspection. But the point is that CAT's here aren't cheap either. If you're allowed to use a $60 CAT or no CAT you're lucky.
Does the Magnaflow Cat offer any better flow or performance? I might need to replace mine soon, along with my entire exahaust, and would consider a Magnaflow if it's offers any better performance, even it's slight.

Ya beat me to it. I would of gone to Kragen if I would of knew... It will arrive on Friday. Does it need a EOD on the cata. convertor? So how can you register it if I was to. I can return it if it does not have the EOD so that will be my excuse... Will see how it goes.
