Pulled off my rear driveshaft and found this...

Big ol chip in the transmission/transfercase side nut there.

Should I be concerned? I was removing it to diagnose the gear chatter issue I have been experiencing, chatter went away when I removed rear drive shaft btw, looks like need a CV driveshaft/shim up the pinion

I think that's actually normal - for those bolts/nuts, after you torque it to spec, you tap with a hammer/chisel to really secure it on there so it doesn't back off.

I could be wrong but I've seen that before.

STAKE NUT!!! STAKE NUT!!! (flaps wings)

sounds like your diff is the likely culprit.....is it leaking? check the oil level?

Diff is good, checked the oil today and had it all apart in the last 6 months.

I lifted it 2.5 inches with the OME suspenion lift and this problem started, I have a feeling its something with the driveline angle. I have heard I need a CV driveshaft or to shim something up??

You may need shims between the leaves and the axle, to make the diff/pinion line up with the output from the tranny. I heard recently it's 1 degree of shim for every inch over stock you lift the rear.....

4crawler here sells shims - maybe reach out to him?

good luck!

PS - maybe it was whatever you were doing to the diff when you had it "all apart"? Just sayin
