Pulsed Air Injection System Necessary?

Hi all:
I'm in the process of doing the intake mod on my 94 runner w/ 3.0 and was wondering what would happen if I took out this pulsed air system as well. It's the little box next to the VAFM and air cleaner with large tube going to exhaust manifold through a reed valve near the EGR.
There's a picture here:

Already have the EGR blocked and we don't have smog checks in Montana--will it change the way the ECU reads things?

Thanks!

Jim
