Power window doors?

Power window doors?

What all would I have to do to hook up power windows in my 88 4runner that now has manual windows in it now, I found a set of doors with power windows, good glass, mirrors, and door panels and I was trying to figure out what all I need to do to hook the power windows up? Seems like a good deal if I can get it to work because I need new mirrors, and the glass on both windows that I currently have are scratched up not to mention it would be nice to have power windows! Any help would be great!

You could probably just set up your own circuit, it might involve running alot of wiring and possibly a fuse panel. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard as long as you know a little bit about electricity.

I dont have power doors or windows but to me if you want the windows to work at least. All you have to do is hook up a power wire to the positive side of wire comming off the switch/relay. As well as hook up a ground and wa laaa you have a power window. Now about the doors to make them open up both doors you are going to have to do a lot more

You need to wire in the regulator, that controls when it stops when you reach the bottom or top.

I have heard that the early 4runners all used the same wiring harnesses, and that they simply capped off the wires that are ran for stuff like power windows, SR5 gauges, etc. I'm not sure if that is true or not though. It may be plug and play. IMO, I would consider staying with the manual windows just for simplicity's sake. A friend of mine has a '85 SR5 that he is constantly replacing motors, figuring out electrical problems, etc. on. However, that may be because he keeps it in mud and water all of the time...

I done this in my 91..took the regulators and the swithces from a 4runner..the door had the mounting holes already made for them. The wiring is kinda complicated..thats why you HAVE to have the switches..it isnt a simple hot and ground connection..the switch swaps polarity when its pressed in each direction....thus causing the motor to run in different directions making the window go up or down..it isn't bad, but it is a sort of headache. I don't like it when it starts to rain and I run outside to let the windows up and you're like "Dang..wheres my keys?"

yeah I is probably less trouble just to keep the manual windows, I just need to find some new glass mine have a bad tint job and a lot of scratches!

I've been thinking about doing this to my 93 truck. It seems there are runners everywhere here but next to impossible to find a truck with the power options to grab parts from. What all were you able to swap from the runner into your truck? Were you able to keep the old window tracks? The motor should just bolt up, correct?
