My 94 V-6 power steering will work for a short time when truck is first cranked and will stop when truck warms up after a few miles????

Belt is tight and fluid is full.

Red face

Just how does it stop??

Every thing still turns but you no longer have the power assist??

It locks up and the belt starts to smoke??

sounds like the ps pump is shot if the belt is smoking..... even intermittently. better than full-timeas that can be a shutter-down and tow in the middle of nowhere.
