Exclamation popping noise

hey guys.. I have an issue. I dosent happen too offten but when I turn or turn too shape I can hear a pop noise combing from the driver front wheel. Today pull into work, I have to park in the gravel lot so I put in kinds fast and I can front end wobble and make noses. So when I parked I got out and I grab the front tire and I was able to wiggle it from side to side . Seems lose on both sides. I can hear a clinging sound to when I move it. And when driving its fine its just when I over steer. An I have alot of play in my steering. Front joints? Maybe? Anyone been through this? Thanks..

i've been told it's the steering stops. Recommendation is to grease the bolts and the stopper plate. I did this and my crunching/poping still happens.

Lots of play?

Mine was like that but that was caused by bad lower ball joints. The wiggling could be bad bearings. I could be wrong tho.

Could be alot of things. If you can move the tire by grabbing it on the top that's probably a bearing or balljoint. If you're moving it by grabbing it from the sides it could be a pitman or tierod end or maybe even a balljoint. Best bet is to have a friend wiggle the tire while you crawl under and look for what's moving that shouldn't be.

ok yea had some one move the tire and I see 2 joints moving. 1 on each side and there the joints connected to the steering rod. That would explain why I have alot of steering play.. And the driver side tire, you can move it more then the other. Every thing else seems fine. So how hard is it to replace? Any type tool I need? And there are greece nipples, mybe they need to be greeced? But still I'd be able to move the tire side to side..

Good call, tie rod ends as well. For your own sake, the tie rod ends thread on to the end of the tie rod. To keep your alignment somewhat the same, as close as possible follow this simple rule...

As you're unthreading the tie rod end, count each turn you make while taking it off. Every 360* is one full turn. Remember each side. Put the new ones on the exact same number of turns.
