poly body mounts

i have asked this on a few other forums but havent gotten that many responses so i figured i might as well try here too.
has anyone use the poly body mounts on there trucks? i need to replace mine cause they are cracking and getting old so why not upgrade them if they are better. also anyone know whats the difference between the 2wd and 4x4 body mount? all i can find is ones for 4x4s.

I have replaced mine in every old truck I have. 25 year old technology needs replacing if there is something much better

no clue if the 2wd and 4wd body mounts are the same

4crawler might know, check his website

I installed the polyurethane body mounts. seemed like a better idea then putting rubber back in. a couple of the old rubber ones fell out in my hand when I was loosening the bolts to change them, so I am glad I did.

I found poly body mounts were a big improvement over the old cracked rubber bushings on my '85:

Not sure if the 3rd gen 2WD and 4WD mounts are the same or not, 4WD mount are shown below:

With the rear 2 pair of mounts that bolt to the frame brackets:

See if your look like that and maybe grab a few measurements and we can compare those with the 4WD mounts.

I installed Rogers Poly mounts on my 4WD 87 4Runner years ago. Great upgrade over the 20 year old loose sloppy OEM mounts. No additional road noise (granted I have no carpeting and loud tires lol)

Brief writeup on the page I posted earlier:

Or in detail on this page:

Basically:
- Loosen/remove nuts on body mount bolts
- Lift one side of vehicle
- Remove old bushings
- Install new bushings
- Lower body
- Repeat on other side of body
- Install and tighten nuts on body mount bolts

so i finally got around to doing this. i guess the body mounts are the same (2wd-4x4) because i got the energy suspension kit and it worked without any hitches. i didnt think they would be different as the cabs are basically the same but you never know. i havent driven it yet but it couldnt be any worse then what it was. the old ones were cracked and loose.

im thinking of doing a 2" body lift on my 93 4x4 pickup would it be a good idea to replace these at the same time or do most kits come with new ones?

Replace them if they are worn out or damaged:

Otherwise should be fine as is. And body mount bushings are typically a separate item from a body lift:

Roger helped me with this a few months back with my 2nd gen, when I installed them I noticed a huge difference, the body and frame felt as one and I dont know how to explain other than it seemed like I could feel the road vibrations alot more, the kits are great and nicely labeled A,B,C, pillar etc. Def worth the money for an off road vehicle
