PLEASE HELP!?!?!? No fuel 22re
I have an 89 pickup 22re
My fuel pump and tank are trashed so I bought a univesial 12 v pump from autozone and rigged it to my fuel line. I'm getting fuel all the way through the filter but truck won't fire. If u use starting fluid it will hit but won't run bc it's not getting fuel.im not sure where to start Any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance

Probably not enough fuel pressure from your external pump.
Fuel injection requires high pressures.
No ordinary in-line pump will cut it.
Bite the bullet and restore the factory setup.

The spec fuel pressure at the rail is 38-44psi (depending on throttle opening), so your pump will have to put out at least 50psi (with the FPR "dumping" the excess).
Autozone has a bunch of external fuel pumps, but in my quick look they're all in the 8-9psi range -- okay for a carburetor, worthless for fuel injection.
Every fuel injection pump I've seen sits inside the tank so that the gasoline cools it; 50psi takes some power. millball is probably right; I would be surprised if anyone makes an external pump that could do the job.

Plenty of high pressure pumps around but your no doubt looking at some $$$
One I used in the past on a project was almost $300.00
Fact of life electric pumps push better then pull.
If you went to all the trouble of pulling the old pump out .
Should have just put one in.
Pulling fuel through a shot fuel pump only reduces things more
You did spec the pump for your demands ??
