please help!!!engine problem

i just got finished installing a brand new 22re long block in my truck using everything but the main pulley and flywheel/clutch assembly from my old engine and it seems to have somehow brought the awful ticking sound from the old engine with it. this is not the ordinary toyota tick. it sounds like the valves but i already adjusted them .012&.008 it made no difference the sound is slower than valves too. its like one fourth or a rod knock speed sound although i cant tell where its coming from even using a stethiscope. maybe its my injectors that i reused can they be that loud? the tick is pretty loud and is through all rpm ranges also the idle is loping or hesitant and gives off a nasty wobble vibration several time a minute. the truck drives perfectly but is so loud and seems like its gonna die every time i let the rpms fall.any help?

valves:
cold- .007" intake, .011" exhaust.
warm- .008" intake .012" exhaust.

ticking noises could be valves... could also be slop in the rocker shaft / arm assemblies.

are the rockers hitting the valve cover? maybe the nut are to tight. try loosening them and see if noise changes.

make sure that the 4 nuts holding the valve cover down are not too tight...
