Plans for a project car

Hey guys lately ive been looking around for a used 90s pickup that i could fix up and clean up for a project. i dont know all that much about older yotas but thats why im trying to learn about them. what should i be looking for? i lke the body style of an x cab 90s pickup but i would like to have a SFA already on it. should i think about a different year? this truck will be for mostly wheelin, no insane crawling but i want it to be a good wheeler prolly run atleast 35s on it. any ideas are good i just want some info on what you guys would do.

thanks

find an 85' extended cap pickup...
good luck find an already SAS'ed 90's pickup that isnt already done.
it won't be a project truck at all.
you could do the SAS yourself, too.

yeah i know it wouldnt be much of a project if it was already built how i wanted it. i dont really have the time or skills to do a SAS myself. i was thinking maybe if i could find an older yota that has a solid axle under it i could beef it up and lift it and throw some bigger meats under it. which years already had sfa under em?

thanks

the 79-83 are the different bodystyle than the 84-88 pickup and 89 4runner.

4" lift, gears, replace the tranny if you get a 79-83.

lockers, armor..

how much money are you planning on spending on this build? if i got a 85 pickup i would do 5.29's, high steer, rear detroit locker, front elocker with longs, 4" lift, cut wheel wells, sliders, tg front bumber without stinger, snorkle, engbldr 261 cam (22re) lce header isr mod with batter/ intake swap. maybe a big warn winch. oyah and you might want marlin duel T cases . i think with all that atleast, you would have a reliable wheeler imo btw

might as well add some diamonds with creeper joints, 4 link her, some 39.5s, bob, tube back half, tube front half

well hell then ya got your self a dang buggy!!!

after that ya might as well throw some 1-tons under it..lock em..lift it a little more..throw on some 54" boggers...upgrade the axle shafts...throw in a vortec 5.7..or a big thirsty V8 of your choice..and have at it!!!

i wouldn't mind having a buggy like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF1YHbfqtbI

sorry guys..i have no clue how to post a video LOL

*EDIT* oh wait i guess that works lmfao
