pickle fork for removing steering stabilizer

I'm getting ready to remove my OEM steering stabilizer, but am wondering what size pickle fork would work best. I went to the local Kragen, and they had 4 different sizes.

I did a search but couldn't find anything.

Slide right off? Haha! Gawd....I've never had that luck. They're supposed to be torqued down pretty darn tight. And, considering how long yours has been on......!!!

Any fork big enough to slide over the bolt will do. You just have to break the surface tension. And, that's hard part!

3/4" between the tines worked fine for me. The handle length doesn't matter, but nothing over 1' or it will be awkward.

I got by with the bigger size they had at advance auto, which i think was 3/4"? It was signifigantly easier, with the pickle fork, than I had expected.

thanks for the advice everyone. I borrowed a buddy's 3/4" fork and took a BFH to it. It came off after a few good hard hits.

I hit it with a 8 Oz. hammer and wiggled it to get it out.

Some get lucky, I guess. I've had to cut mine off before.
