Passenger Rear upper link, install help needed.
Hey everyone,
finally getting around to lifting the 4runner and I am almost done. I had to remove the passenger rear upper link to allow the axle to pivot enough to get the new springs in and now I cannot get the link installed again.
I removed the link at the axle & cannot for the life of me get the link mount/bushing and were it mounts to the axle lined up to put the bolt back in? it's about an eight of an inch off and I dont want to beat it in with a hammer because of fear of messing up the threads on the bolt.
It is this mount in the picture
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Chris

You're not talking about the track bar, yes? That keeps the axel centered left to right? If it is that one... get a buddy and have him push the truck while the axel is slightly weighted.
If it's actually the upper link... maybe get the axel under a bit of weight, and then try using a prybar through that hole in the mount to tilt it forwards or backwards to get the bolt to line up?
Either way, I think you need a helper!
