pass floor board soaked. not coolant

89 4runner, 22re. Every time it rains my passengers side gets wet all the way to the back seat. I can't see any place around the windshield that is rotted, all the holes I've put on the body are sealed as far as I can tell.

The water doesn't smell like coolant so I don't think its the heater core. Right now I've got the drain plugs pulled so it'll kind of dry be we're expecting a lot of rain this weekend.

Any ideas?

Window seal/channel leaking down the door jam onto floor. Mine does this too.

could be this, mine was pretty rotted on a fairly rust free vehicle.

ideas:

1. from the door. there's supposed to be a "shower curtain" behind the door's trim panel, sealed all the way around with "monkey snot". the handle release rod goes through it. make a new curtain out of painter's plastic drop cloth

2. from the roof. my fiberglass hard top has a crack in it. the roof fills with water in the rain, and as soon as i move the vehicle, it trickles in and runs down the inside of the slider window. patch with fiberglass resin.

3. slider window seal is worn out/missing. replace or silicone shut.

4. a/c condenser drain is clogged. unlikely, but could be pooling up in the blower ducts. try blasting compressed air from top or bottom to confirm this is clear.

5. you spill stuff and have amnesia. wake up

6. gremlins. don't feed them!

Had the same problem on one of my rigs. Turned out that the seams were rusted to crap under the cowl and fender area. It looks like what they used to seal from the factory had let go and it started rusting.
You'll need to remove the fender and cowl to see it.

Mine was pretty bad. I has grass growing out of the carpet and the truck smelled like.... Well, let's just say I was looking for a skunk to use as an air freshener

This is very common. My 88 was the same way. Fixed it with RTV. Then I fixed the crink in my neck I got from doing that with Advil.

I wouldn't recommend RTV if yours is as bad as RBX's though. Mine was just barely seeping from a crack in the old sealant. Not a gaping hole...like this.
