Oil pan bolt size!?!?!? Help me!!!!

ok guys..in a rush to get my oil pan mounted on the 4runner today..i need to know the size of the bolts???

the oil pan i have came from a completely disassembled motor..and all of the bolts were in a big bucket.............

so instead of spending hours looking for the dang bolts i figured i would just get some new ones..but i have no idea what size they are!!! so..if somebody knows...i suspect an m10x1.25 but im not positive...

well...i seen in a thread on here where it said m12x1.25...then i seen another thread that said m6x1.25...............

i cant remember EXACTLY but im pretty sure the size of the head is is 10mm...so that rules those other 2 out doesnt it?????

m10 stands for 10mm head...1.25 stands for thread pitch..now i just need to know...HOW LONG ARE THEY!?
lol

Actually the number after the "M" is the diameter of the shaft of the bolt, so an M10-1.25 will be a 10mm dia. shaft, 1.25mm thread pitch and that typically has a 14mm head (size of the wrench you use on the bolt). I suspect the oil pan bolts are 6mm (~1/4") diameter (10mm head) or at most 8mm (~5/16" dia. - 12mm head). Measure and see what they measure out to.

yea...got to thinking and looked at an m10 bolt..and it was WAY huge..LOL..

turns out that a Geo Metro has the same bolt size for the oil pan as the runner..and since we got about 3 geo motors..i have plenty of bolts..

will be puttin the oil pan on..and puttin oil in the runner and startin it up tomorrow...i know my fingers will be crossed! please keep the runner in your prayers.lmao
