Oil leak issues

I'm in the middle of a tune up on my 91 22re..As I went to pull the 4th plug i noticed a big wet spot. Took the plug out and figured out it was coming from the plug hole. I did a top end rebuild about 3 years ago with Engbldr parts, so my valve stem seals were replaced, which leaves the rings right? Is it rebuild time? Will I ruin the new spark plug with this oil leaking in there..

I have not done a compression test yet, but I plan on buying one shortly and checking it..just looking for some advice

looks like an oil leak from the backing plate or back of the valve cover could be from the coolant line aswell

doesn't look like it's coming from the spark plug hole to me....

I agree with the guy above me. Looks like an external leak of sorts.

Looks like a valve cover gasket leak to me. If it was the cylinder, your spark plug would seal it off, so you would have no visible signs like that. Based on the pic, I'd say the half moon seal is leaking in the back, dripping onto the rear water bypass, and then onto the head.

Just get a new valve cover gasket set, and make sure and use some silicon on the half moons to help hold them, and each corner to get a good seal.
