I wanted to share my new battery tray. I totally hijacked OutlawMike's idea and ran with it. You can see information about the battery and clamp here:

I love this battery but the stock tray just doesn't fit and my stock tray was cracked and broken. So I 3D printed a new one to fit the Odyssey:

Just download it and send it off to a 3D printer. I recommend using ABS plastic of 0.02mm resolution or better. I printed mine at 0.02mm and it's good enough. It's very strong and I have little concern about it breaking.

I would recommend against using other materials like PLA because it may slump due to heat in the engine bay.

It was around $80 at a local 3D print shop. Online places were quoting me over $100, so I went with the local guys. I have also heard that select UPS Stores now have 3D printing, but my location didn't have anyone on-hand during the weekend to handle 3D printing.

Nice work.

But isn't part of the purpose of a battery tray to catch the electrolyte if you get a leak? Could your tray fit the battery too well?

It's a sealed battery, so the only leak that could potentially exist is when the pressure-activated valves open due to significant pressure differential between the atmosphere and the inside of the battery. If that happens, then some ˟˟˟˟ has really gone wrong. The tolerances look a little tight from the photos, but I'm confident it will catch any sweat that may come front the vents on the sides of the battery. If not...oh well. At least the damn battery isn't sliding around and moving anymore. That old battery clamp and tray were doing nothing.

I'm not sure about the Sears battery but the Odyssey & Optima batteries I read about are of the Absorbent Gas Mat design. That design is far less likely to leak than a conventional liquid filled battery. I used my first Optima for a little over 10 yrs and my second for 5 yrs in a street and drag strip environment, nether has ever leaked. I'm 100% sure that someone has suffered from a cracked case though. You can mount an Optima sideways or upside-down so that should say something about common leakage problems. I assume that you can do the same with an Odyssey.
