odd whistle at rest

With truck running at idle, emergency brake on, I hear a high pitched hiss / whistle from the right rear tire area.

If the engine is off I don't hear the noise, so it's not a tire air leak (and the tire ain't flat).

What could that noise be? Something to do with the brakes? I don't feel anything squishy, nor is the brake fluid level changing.

Fuel?

Does it do it with the emergency brake off? Also does you exhaust pipe go all the way to the back or does it stop somewhere in the middle?

x2 on whether it does it with the e-brake off.

The LSPV is located right above the right-rear wheel.
I'm assuming the 2nd gens have them too? Not sure what would be whistling from it though...leak in the boot maybe?

I have not checked it with the e-brake off. So, every time I have checked the ebrake has been on.

Check it with the e-brake off and see if it does it.

I would also try crawling under the truck and see if you can isolate where the noise is coming from.
As of now, I'm going to guess it's the LSPV since that is the only thing I can think of that is in that area and would be brake dependent - assuming the e-brake has anything to do with it.

e-brake shouldnt be causing any thing to do with the hydrolic brake system since its mechanical.

With them both being brake-related I figured it was a decent place to start.
Plus, I can't think of anything else on that corner that could really cause a whistle.

turns out that it in fact does make the whistle with or without the ebrake engaged.

But it certainly does seem to be coming from the lspv. I've seen the manual instructions on adjusting it. are they better to replace or to rebuild?
