not sure what to do with the runner now, looking for opinions

So heres the deal... i have a 94 5 spd 3vze. The clutch has very little life left, and its beginning to show symptoms of a bad head gasket... it smokes sometimes on startup and it smells like coolant.. but this only happens say 1/5 times

The problem is i dont know what to do with it once it finally s the bed, should i replace the clutch and headgasket or is an engine swap the better way out... 3.4L or 4.3L gm? 7m?

Its my dd, id be going for the best "bang for the buck" solution.. the 3.0s lack of power is frustrating which is why i began looking at swaps..

just looking on some opinions... i dont mind spending some dough on this but it has to be reasonable

i would go with the 4.3, very strong motor, easy to find, and descent on gas. Im doing the swap next spring.

I have access to a 97 s10 4.3.. allegedly the engine only has 90k or so on it while the body has about 170,xxx.. can probably pick the truck up for 500 or so.. one reason why i considered the 4.3

On the 4.3, you will need an adapted bell housine, I don't know if the motor mounts will work... The 3.4 will bolt in to the 3.0's mounts and straight to the trans. My sig has a link to a company that can help with the wiring harness and crossover. 3.4's are reliable and better performance than the 3.0. What ever you do....POST PICS!!!
