No power to fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

okay so i rebuilt the motor put everything back together i.e. new fuel pump/bracket installed but still not fuel to the engine and fuel pump is not responding. What i did discover is a blown EFI fuse which would blow every time i would put a new one in. As soon as i turned the key it would blow the fuse. Now i read online somewhere that my relay could b bad but i don't understand why all of this stuff worked fine before i put the block in. I also tried manually opening the mass air flow gate but still no response from the fuel pump. I suck bad at all things electrical. So any help would be great thanks.

Check that you don't have a pinched or bare wire someplace in the engine bay or anywhere you were working during the rebuild.

Yep, sounds like a short. Check for pinched wires as above, or check plug connectors for continuity where there shouldn't be any, with an ohmmeter.

Make sure the oxygen sensor wires are not draped over the cat and shorting out.

holy crap this sux!!!! its a short for sure been trying to track it down all day. my relays are all good but I'm almost positive it is the white red stripe wire that sends power to the injectors and comes from the efi relay.Problem is that wire goes everywhere. Gonna pull the efi manifold in the morning and look around I've basically checked everywhere else. It has to be somtn not right in that wire around the fuel rail since that area of wires was moved around the most during rebuilding. I was very careful about avoiding this problem but i guess not careful enough.
