No power on cold starts

Hey fellas been lurking for a while but have always been able to find the answers I needed. But I am not having luck with this one.

I have a 1992 4x4 single cab. 22re fuel injected. The truck has 242k miles and runs like a dream unless I let it sit for a day or 2. If it sits for a day or 2 that first start I have to let it sit an idle till it warms up or else it will barely get out of its own way. It misses an bogs. It won't stall it just won't barely get moving. But all I have to do is rev it up a bit till it's warm the. She runs an drives no problem. I can let it sit all day while I am at work an jump in it no problems.

The only other issue I have had is when I put my blinker on while I am driving my speedo drops like 25mph very quickly then bounces right back up lol. And my radio an lights behind my ac switches will cut in an out. I'm sure these arnt related but I figured full disclosure is best.

Thanks for the help fellas!

Welcome to YotaTech!

Very nice truck by the way.

Interesting problem your having. Its like clockwork if the truck sits for more than 2 days over the nights we have the symptom described..? Any other symptoms..? Noise..? Smoke from tail pipe..? Visuals..?

The electrical problems stated could all be individual faults and or could be related to a faulty/worn charging system.

Check battery terminals. Loose and or heavily corroded battery terminals can cause some electrical disturbances.

As for back to the engine problem. Perhaps something is bleeding down overnight. Is there a smoke color out of the tail pipe. Possible coolant system leak into combustion chambers..?

Possible intake manifold/gasket leaking coolant into intake...?

Possible cold start fuel injector fault..?

Possible leaking fuel injectors.

Air Flow Meter air door sticking intermidately..?

Air Flow Meter fault..?

Temperature sensors faults..?

Fuel system restrictions. Fuel delivery system performance. (Fuel pump)

Spark plugs worn..?

Incorrect ignition timing..?

Ignition system..? Ignitor Assembly/distributor performance..?

Sorry to post such a long list haha.

Just trying to lay it all out.

I think it is a fuel issue 2 things the fuel pressure bleeds off when it sits for two days.

The fuel filter is getting a bit clogged so it takes a while to get the fuel the engine needs.

no doubt still the original pump perhaps getting old and tired as well.

Electrical your turn signal bulb has a bad ground and is grounding back through the tail and marker lights

I'll check the for smoke but I am fairly certain there is none. No unusual sounds. Thanks for all the input so far.

Wyoming9 my initial thoughts were fuel system but because it was only after it sat it wasn't making sense to me. However now that you mention it bleeding pressure this makes perfect sense. I will shocked if this isn't the culprit. I'll change the fuel filter first an go from there.

Just remember the fuel is either draining back into the tank .

Or leaking out of the injectors or cold start injector back into the engine .
