Cool No more stuttering 3.0 V6, My FIX

Holy cow, it’s fixed. You know all the threads about "Does anyone know why my truck shudders till about 3000rpm and then its like a shot of nitrous", and "Its real sluggish till fourth gear and then it stutters making it even worse" well I found my problem. It actually got to the point that I was getting no fuel to the motor and it would not start. I initially thought that my fuel pump was bad. Hooked a fuel pressure gauge to the line and did ot have enough pressure to register. So me and a buddy dropped the fuel tank and pulled out the pump. Low and behold, the only problem was the high pressure hose that connected the pump to the fuel line. The guy I bought the truck from did not use a new section of hose when he replaced the fuel pump and only put one hose clamp on the fuel line side and not one on the actual pump side. The pump was turning but as you know things will follow the path of least resistance. The hose began to split and the pump was just pushing the fuel right back into the tank. The descriptions I have been reading about sounded just like my problems. If you’re having the shuddering problem have someone check your fuel pressure. I been told it should be around 30psi. The yellow butt connector is just to help understand the hose problem. What a pain for a three dollar fix. I hope this helps someone else. Ride hard, tread lightly!

Fuel pressure should be 38-44 psi with vacuum hose disconnected, 33-37 with it connected, per the FSM.
