Newbie check out my new 4runner and give me some pointers
Hi everyone this is the first forum ive ever been a part of this is my new toy i had a 97 and another 95 runner before this one.I just bought it 3 weeks ago with a stuck open valve no biggie i got it for 1,500.00 i dont think is was that bad of a price and its a 5 speed! my last 95 was an automatic very sluggish! thats why i sold it and bought the 97 but i didnt like the way the 97 handled in the dirt so i sold it as well. So anyone please give me some pointers on what to do with it im thinking the 3.4 engine swap and a 5" superlift. Here are some of the pictures i took of it today.

Nice lookin toy. Sounds like a good plan, would you do the swap yourself? Where did you take those pics? I'm kinda new to the area and don't know anywhere close by to play in the dirt.

Although I personally would not go with a Bracket lift, its up to you. There are easier and cheaper ways of getting that lift.
Check out the engine swap forums for info on the 5vzfe swap

What is the deal with that my dad has always told me solid axle is better but ive seen alot of people with springs in the front what are the advantages. As far as the lift goes what would be better ive driven alot of toyota's in the past but never really played with them as far as lifting them i have no idea whats better and i wanted to do the Superlift because i can get it at cost.

It just depends on what you are going to do with it. By all means the SAS is the better choice if you are planning on tackling some fairly advanced stuff. If its just some moderate trail driving, there is nothing wrong with the IFS. The money you are going to put into an SAS could be put towards lockers, gears, winch. Other things that will improve your capability cheaper and easier than an SAS.
