Saw you were looking for vinyl or carpet, I just ordered vinyl flooring from Rock auto, it was about 116 shipped, for passenger area. Should get it next week, I'll let you know how it looks.

Got the crank bolt ordered as well as the factory build sheet. Pick em up from the dealer on Tuesday. I was thinking of bumping the engine with the key til I get it close to TDC then try moving the pulley with a giant filter wrench for the F250. Plugs are out so compression should be minimal. We shall see

The tear down continues as I found a few spare minutes. Sorry if some of the reference pics are boring. If I had neighbors they would have heard an hour or two of some choice words as I progressed.

The timing chain and guides look fairly new but the head gasket def went. All of the FI stuff aggravates me more by the minute. I don't mind doing the HG and possible head, but the clutter of vac lines is tough to swallow

Got a couple goodies today from the dealer. New crank bolt and a free hat for test driving the new TRDPro Tacoma. Dang that truck is nice! And my favorite color, or lack there of, White.

On another note, my buddy at the dealership printed a build sheet and a free car fax. It shows that I will be the fourth owner. The original owner took possession in California and it spent its life with tons or service records in Arizona until 2009. I guess that's why I've found so little rust. The next stop for her was Tampa Florida. The second owner held onto it until 2016 when it was sold to the knucklehead I purchased it from. I'm kind of glad he blew the head gasket fairly quickly or there would be no telling how much damage he would have done. It was sitting under a tree in his yard since last year

Interesting to know the history, nice that you have an AZ truck. Mine is a FL original I think because there is a FL dealer sticker on the tailgate that looks age appropriate. It came to me from Ocala area. Those TRD Pro Tacomas are nice, but not sure I can stomach the price.

Man I appreciate that but no problem at all. The test drive and free hat at the Toyota dealer was cool even though they wouldn't let me go off road. I also got my build sheet while I was there. I got pretty far on it today, for me anyway, since I'm no mechanic. Yesterday was 96 degrees here so I didn't do anything. I'm trying my best to get the intake off in as few pieces as possible. Time to order some parts

You don't waste any time. I got my ACC vinyl flooring the other day, haven't had a chance to do anything other than open the box.

I'm anxious to see what you think of the quality Cory. I'm sure anything is better than mine at the moment, which is no flooring lol

Got all the head bolts out today. HG def went on the intake side between the 2nd and 3rd cyl. The #8 head bolt fought me the entire way out. Seems to me like it was over torqued and maybe that's what caused the leak on the intake side.

After looking at the mess in the engine bay with all the FI and vac stuff, im 99% sure that when this head goes back on, this will be attached to it.

Hey

Are you located in Florida? If so; where about? I have an '89 that I bought about 15mos. ago and I'd love to bounce some things off of ya. I'm in Riverview, just southeast of Tampa.

Tony - you are really going to carb it? If you do go that route, unless you have a use for the stuff, I'll buy your throttle body and intake tube. The 89+ ones are the straighter variety with the integrated wax idle valve. I have the older style with the separate idle air valve.
