New here with questions on lockers
Hey folks. I have a '94 ext cab pickup with a 4cylinder,with 4.88 gears and 33's. I am interested in installing a electric locking diff out of a Tacoma. Anybody have any info on this or is it even possible? Should I just try to just install the whole axle? Also what about the wiring it takes to run it? Is the taco e-locker my best option or should I go with something else? Just looking to do this on a slight budget but want it to work properly. Thanks

Thanks guys. I was having trouble wording it correctly in the search to get it to bring up anything. This forum is setup a little differently than what I'm used to. Some of the links that I was was able to pull up are no longer available. I think I have enough info to get me started. I'm going to call around to my local junkyards to day to see if I can find the rear end and hopefully the ECU to control it. From what I have read installing the 3rd member will not be a problem. I work in a machine shop, so that parts taken care of. I could also do the homemade relay setup, but would like to have the ECU. I'll also have to call to get a price on the 4.88 gears for the unit. This whole idea popped back into my head after getting hung-up Friday night and having to walk home. Cant be having that! I think I'll hang around here for awhile and see what else I can find. Thanks for the help.

I already have the 4.88's in my truck so I'll just have to get up a set for the rear. Thanks for the tip on car parts.
