new door speakers installed
the speakers in my sisters truck where junk some sort of home made deal... so we went to wal-mart and seen these 6-1/2'' 4way sony gtx1640 on sale for $25 where like $119 and i had some good door panels after i butcher the rest of the old ones up to figure out where i liked them .... they sound great running off a jvc deck not even sure if i should bother putting in the 5.25'' ones in the rear cubbys

Front Speakers
Hey, If you dont care what are the measurements up the door panel and from the inside? i dont want to mess up my door panel... Also is there already a whole cut in the door panel??

Nice, ive been wanting to do that with my 87, there just ain't enough sound up front, but I plan on making new door panels with junk pockets when/if I get around to doing it.

Looks good Elton. Just a note guys his sisters truck has wing windows so he has more mounting depth available. If you have full glass windows you need to check your depths carefully they have much less available space.

I have the wings too, I just haven't quite figured out how too make the panels have pockets in them, I'm planning on building mine for 2, 6 1/2" 2way mid range speakers, and 1 tweeter in each door.

It doesn't matter if you have wing windows or not when installing 6.5" speakers in the door. You can install them in any toyota truck/4r as long as you have the speaker all the way to the front and all the way to the bottom. You will need an airsaw to do this. In the pic with the speaker in the door, you can see that there is about 3" from the bottom of the speaker to the bottom of the door panel. Thats pretty close to the window regulator...

Hey nice work man, looks really good, nice and neat.
i have an hilux sr5 and so far i have 9 speakers total, and my front door ones are roughly in the same position as yours.
mine dont look as good tho haha, how do yours sound ?
