New coils are shorter than stock?
Hello and long time no see!
I recently bought my son his first car! Picked up a '95 4Runner with 141K miles, 5spd, 4X4 completely stock. It had the notorious rear end sag so the first thing we did was to order new shocks all the way around and new rear coils. The weird issue upon disassembly of the rear was that the new coils (Moog) were about 1 1/2" - 2" shorter than the stock (I assume) coils that we pulled out. They are however significantly larger in the coil diameter than the old ones. I am assuming that this makes for a more heavy duty spring (box was marked as heavy duty spring)?
Anywho, after the install with the shock and spring change it measured 1 3/8" higher from floor to top of wheel opening, it still has a little sag so I'm thinking that the T-bars have been cranked up since the A-arms aren't even close to being near parallel to the ground. He is running 31-10.5 tires on it as well. I was looking to find the measurement from the ground to the A-arm for the stock height to get an idea of how much they were cranked, but haven't been able to find it for this year of runner.
Has anyone ran into this before? Is there a way to determine if the old coils are stock height or not? I looked but couldn't see any markings on the coils and saved them just incase we wanted to switch them back.
thanks for your thoughts in advance!

IIRC a lot of people claim the stock height of 1st gen 4runner measures at around 13-14" from wheel to fender in front. Not sure why so many people measure this way instead of from center of the axle to the fender which is more accurate, so figure around 17-18" if you measure that way. In the rear I think the fender sits around 2" lower than the front. Of course everyone's truck sits different over the years.
The rear coils could be something non-stock if they cranked the t-bars. Perhaps Land Cruiser coils, they're a popular swap.
