needle valve question ?
I bought a napa carb rebuild kit awhile back for my 89 22r. The needle valve and seat in the kit are smaller than the one in my truck. This was the only kit listed for my carb # and truck. And as far as i know it is the original carb. Does anyone know why some carbs have the larger nv ? I have 2 part carbs and they both have the smaller nv.I didn't know if it had to do with emission standards or something else.

i plan to ask the next time i get by parts dept. i don't make it to the town where the dealership is that often. i am still learning about carbs and thought someone might know .i try to avoid asking the dealership, if i find what i need to know elsewhere.

i went by the dealership today to get a oil filter, and i asked about the nv and seat. my truck is a 89 but it was made in 10/88 there are not any carbs listed in 89. in 88 there are two, one for auto trans and one for a standard trans. there are only 9 nv and seats available in the US and Canada because Toyota doesn't make them anymore. the price is 62.56 + tax, which is more than i gave for the kit at carb kit. i guess i will order one when i get the extra money. i had to replace the fan clutch today ,so it will be a while.to get to the point the counterman of 13 years didn't know what the difference was eather.
