After only 6,000 miles my cooper stt's are almost gone. I know it is bull s*** but there is nothing i can do. The tires are awesome except for the fact that they are really soft and wear really really fast. So i am looking for a new set of tires. I dont think the mud terrains are what i need although they are nice. So I have picked several brands to let u guys rant and rave about and add in ones that i may not have listed.

Pro comp Extreme all terrain- thinking seriously about these they look promising.

These tires all come in the 31x10.50 r15 size that i want. I really like my 32x11.50s but they are a rare breed. These tires will see a good amount of pavement maybe some snow and ice and mud. I use my truck to get around on the farm and haul hay n stuff. I looked at the bfg all terrains but, they are not good in mud at all.

So guys help me out and steer me clear of bad tires if u can but dont comment on something you have not tried or seen first hand fail. Thanks Clint

they come in 32x11.5 because thats what i run!
plus, they wear great and are very quiet. Plus i havent even got stuck yet... so yeah. these tires get my vote!

If your STT's wore out in 6000 miles, I'm guessing you need an alignment BAD.

I will recommend BFG A/T's just becaus eyou don't have them on the list. They are available in a 32x11.50 too.

I just picked up the new bfg mud terrain km2 and they do a lot better on ice and in snow. Yes i have had both and these are by far my favorite tire.

I have Remington Mud Brute in a 31x10.5-15 I have put about 5000 miles on them so far and they are wearing well. They also do great in the mud! I got the whole set for about $550 installed.

I'll chime in with a vote for Treadwrights. I have a set on my rig right now and after a few thousand miles (I'll have to look to get an accurate number) there is no wear that I can see. They are very inexpensive, ride great, balance out very well with minimal weight, grip VERY well on lose rock and gravel on uphill runs and are pretty darn quiet for a mud terrain type tire. I like these better than the last two sets of BFG Muds that I owned and will never go back to anything else if I can help it.

I Guess another vote for the BFG all terrains...They look pretty good...Hell they got me up the mountain and back down at 20 psi...
Plus they are supposed to last ~35k miles.
Looks like you should have rotated and had a good alignment...

The tires have been rotated 3 times in 6000 miles and the alignment was just checked again

32x11.5r15 aren't going to be good on ice. I feel that 10.5" is even too wide for ice. Consider a 30x9.5 or a 33x9.5. If I were you, Id go back to the tire shop and complain about the Coopers, they may give you a discount on another tire. Hope you kept the receipt.

I have 31 maxxis bighorn mts on my 4runner and love them. they ar egreat on ice and snow and are very affordable as well. My last set i had the dick cepeck mountain cat mt and id also recomend those. Both tires got over 20k miles.

Bridgestone makes a Dueller AT in 32x11.50 and they're an excellent tire. I ran them for years.

Something is wrong - no way a radial tire should wear out in 6000 miles. Maybe its a crappy alignment? I would take it to a different shop. Also check the idler arm, ball joints, etc. Air pressure plays a huge role too - did you do the chalk test? Can you post a pic of the tires showing the wear pattern - that would help a lot.

The only reason I have BFG AT's is because I got a screaming deal on them from a guy in COTTORA.

Here's what's on my list for next time based on what I've seen myself and heard:
Trxus MT
Toyo Open Country MT
BFG KM2
Procomp Xtreme MT (big downside, not available in 33x10.50)
Super Swamper SSR (only because available in 35x10.50)

Note that ALL of these are going to probably wear similarly to the Coopers - you need to get it fixed before throwing down another bunch of money on tires!

I went and checked the numbers from the odometer and my log and I've run the treadwrights for 7000 miles so far and they haven't worn much at all.

Just to let you know.

bfgs are a great daily driver tire...mud terrain if you offroad...
