Need advice please
Ok,this is my first post so cut me a little slack please. I am getting ready to install a streetrv head and 268 cam on my truck. I daily drive the truck and travel some steep hills every 3 weeks going to the place I hunt here in NC. I pull a 5x8 trailer with my ATV and other things on it, I assume total weight is less than 2,000 pounds. What has worked for you guys to increase torque that would be good to do at the same time as the head install? Thanks.

I have read mixed reviews on the LCE header. Most of what I read is that particular header just moves the powerband back up higher in the RPM's. Is that true? I am kicking around the idea of going ahead and doing the bottom end while I am in there. It still has very good compression (1=170psi, 2 & 3=175 and 4=180psi). I know that if I don't do it now and have trouble 6 months from now, I'll be kicking myself. I have also been told that boring the little motor does little to nothing for it. I'd love to do a stroker kit but that may be a little pricey for my blood. I appreciate all you guys' help and if you have anymore, I'd be glad to hear it. If I'm asking stupid questions then please forgive me. Thanks for the help thus far.

im having a motor built by putney's custom machine/ 22reperformance.com. They said even though LCE is competition, it's the only header theyd recommend.your compression is fine. regear it and if you want get the lce header. it'll be great with the cam.

MY 268* cam/Street RV head and LCE header definitely add more pep when all combined. Also have cold air intake. Supra AFM was throwing codes and running rich so I swapped back in the OEM AFM...stilll pretty damn peppy.

cam will definitely reconfigure where you get the power - it will be lower RPMs than before. regearing will also be a big improvement - 4.56 gears are fairly abundant as the next step up from 4.10 stock - used diffs and would be a quick swap and you might be very happy with them and your current tires (ideal for a 31, so the current smaller diameter will = more power)
