My wife is AWESOME.... Look what she bought me!!!!
Well I open up my birthday card, and it says at the bottom "enjoy your soft top." Then she drags out a box from her sewing room. A SOFTOPPER! So either she bought something really expensive and she is making up for it..... or she is the best wife ever. Until I have proof I guess she gets credit with best wife ever!
I might have to keep an eye on the credit card bill though... just in case
Pics aren't great but I am stoked. Now I only have to take the hardtop off once a year. That is one heavy bastard. I was planning to from Memorial Day to Labor day with it, but I could not wait.
Now if they made something to keep dogs from licking the windows....

Well, she has a brand new Pilot, and she always wondered why I like driving around old yotas. I guess she stopped trying to figure it out and decided to feed the habit!
Now I have to figure out what to do for her birthday... Any ideas? Whats the non toyota-driving female equivalent of a soft top??
And watch craigslist for those rims. I found a set with almost brand new tires on them for $200 bucks! Kid bought em for his 83, they didn't fit, and Dad got sick of lookin' at em so he sold them. I sold my 1st gen alloys for $140, so all in all I was out 60 bucks.

Or, is there something around the house she's been asking you to do that you've been resisting??

hey man, that's great! you'll love it. when i have the sides and back rolled up, people come up and compliment the truck all the time. it really is fun.
here's your repay gift: tell her you're taking her camping in the truck with the new top, then take her to a really cushy cabin or lodge type place. she'll think she's roughin' it and get the royal treatment! (will help if you secretly pack the clothes she'll wish she had instead)
good stuff for cleaning the plastic windows is called Plexus. i use it on my m/c windshield all the time, with a microfiber towel.

I got it off of a 2nd gen 4Runner. check here.. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...runner-179966/
Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I was surprised how little wind noise there was on the freeway today, and by noon I had the top stowed. I wish I would have had one years ago on my other 4Runners, this would have solved the question of "its nice for 3 days then its gonna rain. Do I take the top off?" Stupid Washington weather.

I remember driving my 1999 Jeep Wrangler with the soft top It was so noisy.
At least your yours is not like that .
And I hope you don't mind if I take your wife off your hands for a few weeks.
Because my birthday is coming up in June and I want a set of doors for my 90 with some vent windows.
