My daughters new Yota
Saying Hi to everyone, just bought my daughter her first vehicle. Found a 1991 4wd Extended Cab truck, 3VZE with a 5 speed. We got it for $3600 with 149714 miles on it.
I had to do some work on it as it was running rough at lower rpms, seemed to be missing. The guy I bought it from had the timing belt replaced and put new cap and plug wires on it just before selling. He said his mechanic had told him it had a bad injector that was causing the rough running. Seemed to me it was something else tho because it was running and driving just fine other wise.
So today I replaced the plugs since he hadn't done that. Replaced the Denso plugs that were in it with NGK V powers after doing some searching on the forums here. Engine runs nice and smooth now While I was at it, sprayed a good dose of Deep Creep into the trottle body and poured a can of Seafoam into the gas tank. Changed the oil and filter, using a Fram (yes I know, I hate Fram but its what I had access to at the time without having to run all over town) TG3600 which is longer than the stock filter, like the PL20195 which I will use next time. Truck runs awesome now. Just need to figure out why the reverse lights aren't working. Bulbs are fine, everything appears to be plugged in. No clue yet, its a project for later. All the other lights are working fine.
Anyhow, here are some pics. My little girl is one happy camper!

nice truck, as for the reverse lights i would start with the plug on the side of the trans at about the passenger floor area, pull that plug off and jump the wires and see if they work, if so then its a bad sensor, it still no lights then see if u have 12volts on one of the wires.

Not too much right now. First thing is to make sure it is sound and running good. So far so good there. I do plan on doing the SR5 gauge swap and probably some bucket seats and a center console of some sort. The split bench is nice but there is no storage to speak of and it could definitely use some. I will probably do exhaust and some intake mods to free up the breathing some and try and get some better mileage. Truck is bone stock right now, surprising for a 1991! It probably won't get any major mods until I buy the truck back from my daughter but that is like 10 years down the road still!

i think my truck is that same color. Idk what toyota was thinking when they made this paint, it fades horribly bad, every truck ive seen (online) with this color has all had the same peeling fade marks on it.
Shame.
Good looking truck btw

Thanks for the compliments. The truck is nice and straight except for the normal parking lot dings and such. The paint is crap but not really a big deal, just some very minor surface rust in a couple spots. Might look into repainting it later on but that is low on the list of things I want to do. Like I said, keeping the mods limited for now since it's my daughters truck. I want to keep it super reliable and efficient so any mods will be toward that end.
