I just got done filling up and on this tank (the first after the O2 code went away since I fixed the exhaust and the first tank after the Supra mod) I made it 197 miles on 10.01 gallons of fuel. 19.68mpg

On the previous tank I only made it 144 miles on 13.55 gallons. 10.67mpg.

I think I'll stick with the most recent numbers.

Yeah I'm happy. I'm hoping to get better out of it on the highway and better in town after the full tune up and switch to synthetic in the drive train. With the same set up the pickup got 22 in town all day long, never did any long highway runs so I can't vouch for that.

I read several threads where folks were getting 10-14 in town on the same set up without the Supra mod and can only think that the larger intake makes a difference.

That's almost a doubling of mileage... it's like having the cost of gasonline cut almost in half. Must feel nice.
(BTW, I get around 20 in mine too.)

Abe I figured that 90% of it was due to the O2 making the rig run rich. The exhaust had no gaskets (and was held on by one bolt) and most of it was pushing out at the union between the manifold and the down pipe. The intake mod was just a little kicker in the mix.

Hey Abe,
Since you know more about these motors then I ever will do you think it was the exhaust leak/O2 sensor causing the motor to run rich? That was my best guess but I might have been wrong. I currently have a CEL code that points to the EGR but haven't seen any bad effects from it other than that damn CEL being on. When I get the EGR fixed can I expect some better economy?

Hey man thanks again for all the help you've given me for the past year or so that I've owned 22re motors. Your help has kept me from dumping thousands into the local shop.

Not as big and bad as yours but you just wait. I'll be crawling in your back hatch at 20+ mpg with 35's and dual lockers/t-cases. Give me time.....

So any pictures of your rig you want to share? Maybe??

I get about 22 MPG right now. Really anxious to see what the results are with the new O2 sensors I'm going to be getting.

I got 25mpg today. Most of the time I was hauling a 1000lb trailer and flooring it uphill doing 65mph. I hate my 2wd
