Motor mount stretch

Due to the stretch of the rubber in the new motor mounts when I am climbing or crawling my 85 ExtraCab 4x4 Yota, the fan blade has eaten up the fan shroud to the point of failure and the blades are an inch shorter than they used to be when I put the new fan on last year.
What have you done to stop this issue in your old rig?

Dual cases?? You can pony up and buy heavy duty mounts. Or do a trick 4crawler used with a piece of chain. Or that Marlin did and drill out mount for a 1/2" bolt. I did bolt have to retorque from time to time but there are solutions to prevent loosening just easier to do with mount out of truck.

Red face

I don`t think I ever saw any fan shrouds but in pictures !!

Till they come into my hands they are long gone.

I could never figure out the reason

Makes a huge difference in cooling system performance. Some places not a big deal others the shred makes the difference of overheating or not.

I second that...where I go wheeling in the desert, it can be +90F degrees in deep sand and my temp gauge doesn't rise.

The left side motor mount was broken and I replaced it with a Bomb Proof motor mount and left the right side stock mount alone.
The vibration with two Bomb Proof motor mounts would be more than I could handle so only one it is and I also put on a new fan blade and fixed the shroud with zip ties since looks don't count and efficiency on the cheap does count.
Evidently Photobucket is having some problems so I can't post any of the pictures I took now but, stuff is all fixed and working well enough to go wheeling up at Rowhers Flats tomorrow.
