mech temperature gauge install

I have a mechanical temperature gauge that I want to install so I can tell what my stock gauge is showing. Where is the best place to install it on the engine? 1989 pickup 22RE I want to keep the stock one so I can compare them.

BEST place - in the intake mnaifold like the OEM one is...

Not the easiest install tho

i run a inline temp send on the rad hose (from LC eng.) just cut the hose and clamp it on-
