Mass Air Flow Sensor

1990 4runner 3.0
I took the mass air flow sensor with the intention of cleaning it. I found out that it does not have the two wires to clean as I hoped. After putting it together and back on the truck doesnt want to run. error 31
I cleaned the connectors took it apart again and same problem. The truck was starting to run a little rough after it warmed up and thats why I was cleaning it. These things are $$$$ to replace. Any other sugeestions would be greatly appreciated.

did u pull the side plug out or the top cap? if u pulled the side off then u will need to pull top cover and soider the connections again if u do a serch u will find other threads to fix it. if u didnt pull it apart and sprayed stuff in it then u might want to pull top and clean out the liquid that might be up in the cap area.

I'm my try to get one from the salvage yard or fix the one I got. But I may get back to you. That sounds like a great price.
Thanks

Its not a MAF, its an AFM and they don't usually ever need to be cleaned.

Good luck soldering all the little conections back to the circuit board, I did the same thing once. It will test your soldering skills.
