Market for 2nd gen 4runner bumpers?

A guy I know is setting up a fab shop and I want him to build me a rear bumper for my 95 4runner. He was wondering if there was any kind of market for rear bumpers for the 2nd gen 4runners. If so he was going to get plans all made up so that he can Mfg bumpers. If not he was just going to one off one for me and not go through all the hassle. Any thoughts?

Design is yet to be determined, but so far thus it will be a plate bumper that wraps around the sides on the back just like the factory bumper. It won't be a tube bumper or anything like that. In many ways it will be quite similar to the stock one, but thicker and on mine it will have a swing out tire carrier, built in hitch, and some mounts to handle some really bright lights I am going to build for back up lights. Price is YTD. Guesses right now would be $700-900 or so depending on how intricate it is and options desired.

That would be sweet. I don't know why they got away from the swing out tire carriers in the first place. I would be interested in that...Except I live in Alberta, Canada and I can imagine the shipping would cost me my first born child.

it would probably be cheaper to drive down here and get it than to ship it. The drive would be pretty nice too, other than the $4/gallon thing.

I wish your friend luck in his venture.

The shipping costs are going to me a huge factor off the main travel points even more so.

Another thing nothing personal But it is all well and good to have a bunch of people saying Yes Sir I want one of these widgets till it comes down to putting up at least half or more of the price.

Most people don`t realize how many hours get put into something like this that are just not billable .

I can`t see that there would be enough demand nor would every one want the same design. To build but the simplest fixtures that could be used on several designs

Most of us in the business branch out into other interesting areas to pay the bills.

Yea we would all be interested but to me the thing is for 7-900 I can get a Warn thats pretty heavy duty. I love the idea and I know it is not cheap for labor and materials but man I wish we could find some more affordable sturdy bumpers for the 2nd Gen.
