Manual Hill Holder
I have been searching for ever to try and find one. I saw one on a TV show a long time ago. They put it in a Jeep. It looked just like a air brake leaver that was a line locker for the brakes. Any of you rock crawing guys know who sells these?

Why not use the parking brake? Marlin Crawler I think sells a disc parking brake that mounts behind the transfer case. If you were in 4WD that would hold all 4 wheels, the parking brake too for that matter.

Summit sells electronic line locks. Works off hydraulic pressure. Just press the brake, flip the switch... solenoid engages keeping the calipers closed.
Works really well and holds very strong. Plus operates instantly. Won't do anything for an emergency brake though because it relies on the same system to be working as your standard brakes.

I don't want to use the electric style because I want to use it as a parking brake and do not trust electrical connections as much as a hydraulic valve. I know I know "what if a line brakes" bla bla bla.
I despise the cable brakes. I live in Canada and for the parking brake to work I have to use it every day, which I don't. If I don't I have to pull the whole system apart and free it up and all that crap twice a year or more.
The only time I use it is if I run in for coffee or when I am warming the truck up, so I am not worried about failure.

still don't know what the h311 your talking about but, if it's got a hill holder great if doesn't, get used to starting on a hill without it, i was taught to let it out a bit until the engine starts to bog before releasing the brake so that it would hold it a little bit and allow me enough time to switch feet and get the gas into it and go forward w/o rolling back.

SKY makes a tcase brake like someone described on here. I have heard good things about them, about 100x better than your usual parking brake, doesnt use the crap rear drums.... cant freeze in the great white north(I hate that).

I will check out the Mico lock and see what that is about. I guess I could also see about the Tcase brake (trans brake). Thanks guys.
