Loosing Oil??
Ok been awhile since i've been on, just bought a house with a nice big garage yippi!!! So that's my excuse lol... Ok so i've got 3k on my fresh rebuild and i'm noticing it's going through oil like crazy.... Can't find a leak anywhere, nothing in the coolant, and it seems to right well. I'm loosing like 1 1/2 -2 qts. every 200-300 miles. I've got no idea where it's going.... There is no blue or black smoke at anytime no leak i'm stumped... Any suggestion would be great.... thanks

It can take anywere from 3000 to 6000 miles for the rings to completely seat, don`t be afraid to drive it a little bit hard to help the rings seat, you won`t hurt it.

It can. If the oil problem doesn`t stop by 5000 miles or so, then you might have a problem that will require tearing the engine down again. But before you do you might try doing a leak down test and that should tell you wich cylinder is giving you problems.

I don`t know that much about it either, but from what i understand its a test to see how long or how well a cylinder will hold presure and with that they can tell that there is a problem in a particular cylinder, its could be bad rings bad valves or a cracked head.

hey while you are braking it in don't Cruz at steady speed not good for brake you don't want to hold rpms and it will take sometimes up 2 8000k to brake in and keep a good eye on fluid levels

15 w is to thick for start ups. I wouldn't use it. Remember a large percentage of wear is on start ups, go thin. I just changed to 5/30 syn blend, then later prob to all syn.

I always heard that if it doesn't burn at least a quart a week its not fast enough! Sounds like yours is super fast LOL jk. Did you check the radiator and resevoir? I can see a motor burning some but that sounds like excessive. Do you ever smell burning oil even though theres no smoke?
