Looking at a truck, ARB bumper fitment question, and exhaust questions
Hi guys, Im looking at this 90 Single cab SR5 pickup 4x4, 132k miles with the 22RE, new clutch and rebuild tranny. I went to look at it, it ran good, no smoke, no water in oil, 4wd hi/low worked. No leaks. It needs the a/c fixed or recharged, not sure on that. Is there anything else to look for?
Will a ARB bumper for a 92 Pickup fit a 90 pickup? Im sure it will but would like to make sure. I found a nice used one for $400 and trade a stock one.
The truck has a cut dynomax exhaust, which is really loud and If i buy the truck I woud like to replace the whole system with a header, hi flow cat, 2.25 pipe, and a silent muffler. I did some searching, and it seems the turbo style or the flowmaster hush power are the quiest mufflers around. Is there anything quieter? Flow doesnt matter, just looking for silent. Which is better, the thorley, or the L C E header?
If I buy the truck what should I do to it? Maintence that is (Maybe not all of this, but what I see fit), Change oil, diff oil, tranny/transfercase oil, o2 sensor, grease u joints, grease what else? New plugs and wires and cap? Im going to do diff breathers too. Anything else?
Also, is there a kit to add cruise control? OR what parts would I need?
Thanks

sorry about the delay in responding to your post.
did you look at the frame for rust?
grab the diff's at the flange and see how much play is in them, and the trans. and t-case flanges.
cv joints for tears in the rubber boots.
i prefer LCE headers but that is only my opinion.
i would change all the fluids, you can search for weeks on what brand to use.
i always do a complete tune on a vehicle when i buy it used.
i would check and pack the bearing in the front end as well, might as well put in new seals.
i would change the brake fluid and clutch fluid as well.
good luck.
i don't know about the bumpers.
might want to check the t-chain as well.

Thanks, im probally going to run royal purple oils.
No rust anywhere that I seen. I didnt check the CV's, how much does that matter?
Is packing wheel bearing hard, i have never done it.
Any muffler comments?

no packing the wheel bearings is easy, getting to them has been chore for some people. there are a lot of write ups on the job. a FSM is a big help.
i use dyno max mufflers. they are not loud, and they flow good.

Needs a clutch, and im looking for something with A/C. It gets hot out here. haha. I would like to keep the front axle for a SAS on this truck, but I need the money.
