location of diag. port?
So started up my new motor today and learned I have a lot left to do. It's a1986 22re manual 4x4. I have a few coolant leaks and the thing runs like crap. It misses a lotand if I let off the gas it lopes down until it eventually dies. I have a check engine light as well. The manual said my Te1 and e1 terminals were over on the drivers side by the ignitor but, for the life of me I can find it anyhwere. Ive been slwoly learning the guy who owned this truck before me knew how to screw things up. Does anyone have an idea of where else it could be or if it is gone what else I can do to pull the codes. I'm fariliar with the old paper clip scan tool trick but I think my diagnostic port has been removed. If any of you guys have anby other advice as far initial tuning goes I'm all ears. This week I plan on fixing the vacumm leaks, setting the timing, fixing the coolant leaks, and somehow pulling the codes.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew

Pull the codes first and we'll start there.
Beyond that, a comprehensive list of performance issues would help. Things like how does it run when cold... when hot... idle speeds cold and hot, etc.
