Little birdie sounds

Hello fellow yota buds!
I think it was about 4 weeks ago I started to hear little birdie sounds coming from my motor. So I first thought that maybe it was a loose belt. I went ahead and checked all the belts and even retightned all of them. Sound still came back after awhile.
So I started to research here on Yotatech to see if anyone had the same problem and I saw some posts here about the fan idler going out and the weird fan that the 3VZE has just going and taking everything out. I hadnt changed any of that during my rebuild so I figured thats probably what I am hearing so I better get on it.
So I started to tear apart the motor cause I have the new parts already and what do I find in the process??? My idler for the timing belt which has the water neck on it full of white grease spewing out of the bearing. Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!
I couldnt believe it!! That stupid idler was brand spanking new!! Just barely 2,000 miles on my truck and that darn thing had already given up. It was made by GMB. I always thought that was a good brand? I guess not.
So my buddy said that even though it sucked to find something else busted I was really lucky to catch it before something really bad happened.
So now I will be forced to buy a new one from the Toyota dealership tommorow so I can fix it. I will be sending the other one back from where I ordered it for a refund.
Well at least I get to work on my 4Runner again. Ya. I'd rather much be adding stuff to it that replacing cheap parts. Boo.
Well people I just thought I would share that with you all. Felt good to get it out cause it really pissed me off. Darn Toyota. I still love my truck. He He.
Alright yota peeps have a great weekend and be safe! And watch out for little birdie sounds coming from your motor!

tell me more about these birdie sounds...

I think my truck may be doing the same thing, I can't seem to locate the sound, I've been putting off doing the timing belt, but it may be time

Just to let you know how I found out that I had a bad Idler pulley #2, is by using a recommended stethoscope it worked GREAT!.I probed around the upper idler pulley water outlet neck and could here some bad bearing noises and the higher the rpms the worse the bearing sound was and it had a vibration that is felt through the whole front end because of such a large idler bearing that thing is huge!!

Mine just started making a birdy sound coming from the bell housing...goes away when I push in the clutch. i just put in new clutch/throw out/ pilot bearings with the new engine.

Im going for its a small nest of baby birds that nested in there before I put it all back together and now they are multiplying...anyone else have some thoughts?

I only smoke that stuff out of a bong...so it filters out all the addictive parts unlike the old tin-foil makeshift one i threw out the window.
