lets talk 22r timing

On my 87 pickup with a 22r engine. I just rebuilt it with the ENGBLDR kit and RV cam. So i have read that a 87 model year with a manual timed at 0 , 5 or 8 degrees. Which is correct. Using a Vacume guage and getting the vac to 18 it runs alot better now and starts with a bump of the key but after checking with a snap-on light its running at 13 degrees. Is that normal. If i set to the lower numbers it has a bad hesitation and idle. This engine is also running a Weber 38performance carb set to 3 psi of fuel and vac advance is on the port closest to the radiator.

Opps the port closest to valve cover has a blown diaphram if thats the port i need does anyone know where i can find a good used vacume advance or a complete oerformance dissy

For a 22r you time it by removing the vaccum advace and timing it to 0*. Then once the vaccum line for the vaccum advced is hooked up, it will be around the 8* range.

Yes you can set base to 0 then hook up the one port on dissy to take it to 8 then the second port to carb. Heres the thing my carb only has one vac port to hook to so i have to leave other capped off no place to put it

should have one port from the carb and one from the manifold, no?

sorry to thread jack but I have a question. Im currently battleing a timing issue. When I plug the vacuum lines from the distributor I set timing to ''0'' and then reconnect the lines but timing doesnt move. Whats up with that? Should I replace distributor and vacuum advance?
