leave the C Clip out?
Im putting my hub back together... can I leave off the C clip to make CV changes easier? Mine doesnt have much play, and stays in the same place pretty much all through the up and down susp travel...

i would put it back in...removing the c-clip when you take your hub off is a lot quicker than replacing the brass bushings in the spindle.
so put it back in. you shouldn't be opening up your hubs that often unless you are changing a cv axle.

x2. when that brass goes bad you get a nasty grinding/vibrating sensation.

I wonder if I could make up some sort of c clip elim.... like a washer that goes on the drive flange (ADD hub) underneath the brassy washer - bolt (on the end of the axle)
that would hold it out and in place, and wouldnt have to worry about watching those c clips go flying in the mud/snow
